TRISTATE SONS OF LIBERTY ANNOUNCE ENDORSEMENT
OF NAN HAYWORTH FOR THE 19TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

Port Jervis, NY, January 26, 2010: The Tristate Sons of Liberty is pleased to announce its endorsement of Nan Hayworth for the 19th Congressional District in New York State. Nan Hayworth has stated positions consistent with the principles of our organization; we are committed to restoring, upholding and defending American values, virtues, principles and ideals as outlined by the Constitution of the United States.

Nan’s commitment to First Principles demonstrates that she understands and embraces the link between our form of representative government and the economic engine provided by our pursuit of capitalism. Individual freedom and individual responsibility are intrinsically linked. Her recognition of the fact that individuals achieve at different levels according to their “ability and motivation” acknowledge the fact that individuals are free to make choices and be held accountable for the same.

This Candidates positions on Taxes recognize that private capital is best utilized in the private sector. Confiscatory taxes have a chilling effect on private investment by decreasing the pool of available capital. Utilizing a large share of that resource in creating public sector jobs burdens the productive citizenry and consumes resources without creating any new value.

Dr. Hayworth is a member of the NRA and a staunch Second Amendment advocate. This position is consistent with our belief that an armed man is a citizen; a disarmed man is a subject.

A practicing ophthalmologist in Mount Kisco and teaching faculty member at Mount Sinai Hospital, Nan has a unique perspective on the Health Care debate. She has firsthand experience with the various government-run medical delivery systems and the frame of regulation within which the current system operates. This has led her to conclude that the free market can and will deliver better care at a lower cost if freed from the burdensome regulatory environment that the health care industry operates in currently. She also recognizes that the cost of defensive medicine due to outrageous potential liability must be addressed for any reform to actually reduce cost. In short, without tort reform all the discussion is moot.

It is for the above reasons and others, too many to enumerate here, that we are proud to endorse Dr. Hayworth for the 19th Congressional District in NY.
